Why do housing prices drop when the cost of LUMBER<COPPER<PLASTICS,Concret鈥?KEEPS RISING-??

The expenses of building a home today, including lack of suitable land make building a house very expensive by current day standards. Populations are increasing so where are they living???Why do housing prices drop when the cost of LUMBER%26lt;COPPER%26lt;PLASTICS,Concret鈥?KEEPS RISING-??
Construction materials continue to increase due to China and India industrializing their economies.

China and India are where the U.S. was in the 1950's.

But here's the rub:

They are 5 times larger than the U.S. in population.

They are going to need a lot of materials to build up their economies. Why do housing prices drop when the cost of LUMBER%26lt;COPPER%26lt;PLASTICS,Concret鈥?KEEPS RISING-??
Housing prices have dropped because they were over-inflated and there are simply less buyers in today's market. The growing population is renting and if they can't find a suitable place in the city they are becoming more rural.
